We’ve been extremely busy here and haven’t been blogging much (a good sign I guess?) but one of our recent changes has meant we’ve moved the shocase for our Flowplayer plugins over to the following URL:
http://labs.goodingsmedia.com/flowplayer/
From here, you can view all of our Plugins and Skins available for purchase, and also some of the custom skins we’ve built for media giants such as Sorenson Media and Movieclips. Be sure to get in touch if you’d like to enhance Flowplayer on your site. Our semi-exclusive skins are priced cheaply for a simple and easy way to improve your video player, or our fully custom development services can integrate pretty much any functionality with your chosen API’s, payment Gateways and existing Applications.

As some of you may know, Goodings Media have been producing custom controlbar plugins since it was added to the Flowplayer API. However, our embedded licensing meant that people couldn’t test out the controlbars before buying them. Well now thats all changed!
We’ve added a security “watermark” to the video player screen, so that it’s unusable for production but fully functional for testing! It allows you to get to grips with each plugin and realise the advantage of expanding Flowplayer before committing to buy!

We’ve now integrated the Flowplayer Javascript Embed Plugin into our Plus+ controlbars. Currently, this relies on a Javascript hook but we’re working on integrating it into the flash plugin itself. We’re also working on adding social bookmarking “share” buttons, which was a feature request from a Plus+ license holder!
Currently, our controlbars are priced as follows:
This license comes with:
All of our Flowplayer plugins can be found on This Page.
To Order, simply contact us via our contact form stating your invoicing address, domain(s) you’d like a license for and which controlbar. We’re working on an automatic plugin store, but right now we’re doing tings manually.

All our mainstream Flowplayer Controlbars have been updated for Flowplayer Version 3.1.3 (and 3.1.4 – See below). You can see the latest versions below.
The day after releasing 3.1.3, a small but important IE8 bug was spotted in the Flowplayer 3.1.3 Javascript file. This was corrected and updated to 3.1.4, however the rest of the controlbar elements (Flash components) needed no change. See the Official Flowplayer Announcement for more information.
Until the automated store is completed, please contact us if you are interested in the above flowplayer plugins, or if you have any ideas for new functionality or you want a new design incorporating. We have begun compiling custom security plugins for people who wish to hardcode tokens into their secure-streaming plugins for maximum security. People should contact us for this if interested.
We have just released the updated Vimeous, Helious and Vimeous Plus+ controlbars. These new versions will work perfectly with all the bug fixes in Flowplayer 3.1.2.
We’re also pretty excited to announce the launch of Helious Plus+ (after many, many requests to add the Vimeous Plus+ functionality to the Helious look). These two Plus+ controlbars will now remain identical in functionality, so as we add new and better features you can still have the choice of which look you prefer.
Our new Plus+ version features something we’ve had many requests for: Timeline Markers! View theme Here! They are really easy to use and also support playlists by simply passing an array of markers into the config value. We’re working on getting a bit more documentation up at the minute, but anyone interested can simply drop our support staff an email with any questions.
We’re open to new feature suggestions, changes and feedback. In particular, after promoting events inside the Controlbar plugin (which were then added to the core release from version 3.1.2) the internal events handling is much easier to work with. This means adding custom buttons, callbacks etc. within the controlbar has never been easier. We’d like to hear from you guys on what you’d like to see added.
To all our clients with custom or bespoke plugins – you will have been contacted privately regarding your updated controlbars for Flowplayer 3.1.2.
Until we work out the kinks of an Automated Plugin Store, please contact us to discuss licensing, updates and feature requests for our controlbars. Vimeous and Helious serve to act as a way for premium users to enhance their Flowplayer experience without having to pay for a completely custom design. They are licensed on a semi-exclusive basis identical to the main Flowplayer model: licenses are purchased per domain and each domain has a license key which must be unique identified when setting up Flowplayer on that website.
We also offer multi-domain licenses (100 domains) and Bulk License Deals (ideal for software developers, agencies etc.)
Casting Networks Inc regularly shoot long demo reels, often hours long. They needed a way to present the demo reels as a single video, whilst adding useful chapter markers to break up the reel. We combined the power of Flowplayer with a custom controlbar plugin to achieve this, offering a way to define unlimited markers on a playlist of videos.
We are now looking forward to a new streamlined Video Content Management System that incorporates their new video player.
Casting Networks are the leading talent auditions and castings agency in the Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Miama areas.
We’ve given Helious an update to version 3.1.1.4 to bring it up-to-date with our current controlbar trunk and also to add some missing functionality.
The changes are:
If interested in a controlbar license, please contact us to discuss pricing options.
We’ve updated Vimeous to now include the full functionality of the original Flowplayer controlbar. Our original version was missing the playlist controls (next and previous) and a stop button. Now all of them can be enabled/disabled.
Version 3.1.1.8 also had no bug fixes. All license holders should send an email to receive a link to the latest version. Once we launch the new Goodings Media site, we will begin work on our License area for license holders to download the latest plugin versions and add new domain licenses easily.
I thought I’d show my face and put an update as to what’s being happening lately at Goodings Media! Our blog and portfolio posts have been quiet, but this is actually a reflection of how things in the office have been the complete opposite!
Our team grew to include a very talented ActionScript 3 developer, Max Heide. He joins us straight from graduating from Kent University and he’s a valuable addition to our team. He also drinks lots of energy drinks as he’s quitting coffee, which makes it hard work to get him to make the brews… Along with Max’s talents, we’ve been busy working on many Flowplayer plugins for exclusive and semi-exclusive use.
We’re also working on a new web based invoicing system for South East high speed ISP, VFast. They offer truly wireless internet at speeds of upto 10mb up/10mb down, with no telephone line required and almost total coverage of the entire South Eastern area. (They also now provide the 54mb line we have in our office!).
As well, half of our team are adding the finishing touches to the new Exmotability Cars, which stands to become the UK’s largest independent car dealership website. We’re doing some pretty special things with this website and can’t wait to show the finished product to you guys.
We also have been busy updating our Simpleshow jQuery slideshow plugin. We’ve implemented it on many websites now, and all the feedback has been great, in particular how much faster the page load speeds become (the filesize is tiny compared to it’s competition!)
And as if that wasn’t enough excitement, we’ve been eagerly buzzing away making V2 of the Goodings Media homepage. The new website not only incoprorates a fresher look, but also features instant payment and licensing for our custom Flowplayer plugins as well as a more formal labs area to publish all the freebies we develop in our own time. To celebrate the launch, we’ll be giving away a Wordpress Video theme, fully incorporating a FREE full featured custom controlbar plugin for Flowplayer!
We’ll update you more on when we’re launching the new site and theme, but from what I’m seeing from the team it’s going to be pretty special!
Edit: We had a typo in the link to our Millious controlbar, thanks to Peter Devro for pointing this out!
